A warm welcome and thank you for finding us here. Our community may be relatively young, but already the sense of passion and energy it exudes is wonderful to behold. Our home at the beautiful Bhakti Centre in Bath, is a haven of tranquility. Together we meet regularly and hold space for each other. Here is a place for both professional and personal growth. Each meet sees a new experience, a fresh perspective. Our collective embodies Energy, Sangha and Growth…
Namaste!
Energy
Enjoy teaching one another in an enthusiastic, safe and friendly environment, amongst our collective of yoga teachers and their guests. For newer qualified teachers, stepping out to embark on your career after qualifying can at times feel daunting – but the supportive, compassionate environment we have created here can enhance your confidence and positivity. We meet regularly, enjoying connecting with teachers from all backgrounds and pathways in our weekly sessions where class is led on a rota basis by the members. No matter your level, your voice will be heard. You are welcome to bring guests along, by prior arrangement, to enhance our sessions and inspire teachers to appreciate working with all levels of experience and body types.
Sangha
By creating a community of yogi’s (ranging from senior, very experienced teachers, right through to newly qualified), we appreciate our common themes, but celebrate the diversity among us. We welcome and actively seek out yogis from all schools of Yoga, which help us generate a rich tapestry of human connection. Social aspects of the collective are important to us, and we often gather after practice to share experiences and listen to one another. We look forward to a seasonal catch up and social events where friendships further blossom. For each member that joins our community, we make a small donation to charity. The Soil Association charity supports everyone to grow - through growing food in healthy organic soil, and by encouraging and developing healthy connections with nature, and joining together with others to support a nature-friendly future, it seemed the perfect charity to connect with.
Growth
Aside from keeping your teaching skills fresh, you can use your ‘lead’ sessions as a platform to explore new sequences and ideas, putting into practice (and experimenting with) your own themes and techniques of choice. You are free to shape the practice in any direction you want to explore, and with any style of yoga you have trained in. After teaching your peers, there is valuable reflection time and an opportunity for feedback and constructive comments. Curiosity is key, we never stop learning, and our hope is to facilitate every member to flourish. We have begun to organise trainings with senior teachers not just in the South West area but from London and beyond, and as a Collective we have been able to negotiate discounted rates to benefit our community.
“The name ‘Holly Tree Yoga Collective’ was inspired by the flourishing holly tree which stands proudly next to my garden yoga studio. It is also a nod of respect and gratitude for our Simply Embodied 200 hour teacher trainer, Holly Warren, who both myself, Yvonne and Sue trained with. ”
